At the very moment that this post goes online, it’s 12:12 on 12/12 PST. Which is the perfect time to bring up the 12/12 release of Juni Taisen vs. Juni Taisen, Nisio Isin and Hikaru Nakamura’s follow-up to their (May 19th) 2015 Juni Taisen novel – inspiration for this season’s anime, and the manga which reunited Nisio Ishin and Medaka Box’s Akira Akatsuki.

This sequel features the 12 zodiac warriors versus 12 zodiac criminals.

A new edition of the original book is also out today.

The original novel and manga are distributed in North America by Viz. Crunchyroll streams the anime, described:

The record of the bloody battle between the twelve proud warriors— The 12th Twelve Tournament that gets held every twelve years… Twelve brave warriors who bear the names of the signs of the zodiac fight each other for the lives and souls. The participants are twelve very strange warriors: “Rat,” “Ox,” “Tiger,” “Rabbit,” “Dragon,” “Snake,” “Horse,” “Goat,” Monkey,” “Rooster,” “Dog,” and “Pig.” The victor of this tournament gets to have one wish granted, whatever the wish may be. The one wish they want granted— Who will be the final survivor?

Among the additions will be a True End Scenario covering what happens after the finale, as well as the exploration of further mysteries and hints. Those who previously purchased Occultic;Nine won’t be left out, though, because a free update will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PS Vita.

“Pop Team Epic” Anime Preview Forgot The Anime!

“Pop Team Epic” Anime Preview Forgot The Anime!

Expect trouble on January 6th

In theory, Pop Team Epic is an anime. Supposedly people saw some today at a Shinjuku preview screening attended by lead voice actresses Mikako Komatsu and Sumire Uesaka. In theory, it’s going to start this winter. A January 6th debut for Tokyo MX and BS 11, plus January 7th for Japanese digital platforms (AbemaTV, Amazon Video, GYAO !, dTV, Nico Nico Video, Video Market, Hulu and so on) was announced. Yet, none of this has been evidenced online… and they’ve already pulled a fast one on us once.

What passes for a “preview” is instead Popuko and Pipimi confronting a Russian meddler for offering his preference for Basilisk.

Home video art has also been previewed – episodes 1 – 4 will be released January 31st.

“Blood Blockade Battlefront & BEYOND” Approaches Climax with New Key Visual

Episode 11 & 12 of supernatural action TV anime will adapt the “Mystic Eye Hallucination Line” story-line of the manga

Blood Blockade Battlefront & BEYOND is closing in on its conclusion with a special 2 episode story-line that kicks off with Episode 11 on December 16th, and to celebrate the series going out with a bang, original manga author Yasuhiro Nightow and series character designer Toshihiro Kawamoto have collaborated on an epic new key visual (below).

Kawamoto illustrated the new visual based on Nightow’s original draft. Episodes 11 and 12 of Blood Blockade Battlefront & BEYOND will adapt the popular “Yōkan Genshikō” (“Mystic Eye Hallucination Line”) story-line from Volume 10 of the Blood Blockade Battlefront manga.

Blood Blockade Battlefront & BEYOND is directed by Shigehito Takayanagi and features animation by BONES. The series is available via streaming in North America from Funimation and Crunchyroll, who describe Blood Blockage Battlefront as follows:
